Celebrities who used chiropractors

(updated in 2022)

Whether you are a schoolteacher, firefighter, or celebrity, it’s important for your body to function properly. Aches, pains, and discomfort can interfere with day-to-day tasks and can make it difficult to work, exercise, and even lounge around.

You may have heard from your buddy at the gym that they visit the chiropractor, but you may still be unsure. That makes sense—most people don’t know what chiropractic treatment is. They also don’t know a whole lot of people that take advantage of chiropractic treatment.
Would it surprise you to hear that some of the top athletes, actors, musicians, and performers visit a chiropractor for treatment? Many celebrities you wouldn’t have even considered visiting the chiropractor do so regularly. This, in turn, leads to better performance.

There are some top celebrities that benefit from chiropractic treatment, and you definitely know their names. You’ve likely seen them on TV and on the big screen for most of your life. Before getting into which celebrities are taking advantage of chiropractic treatment, though, it’s good to understand what chiropractic treatment is, what conditions it treats, and how you can benefit from the same form of treatment celebrities swear by.

The best place to start is by learning exactly what chiropractic treatment is…

What is Chiropractic Treatment?

Chiropractic treatment (also simply known as “chiropractic”) is a form of healthcare that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the neuromusculoskeletal system. Essentially, this means the bones, muscles, nerves, tendons, and ligaments of patients.

By making adjustments, a chiropractor is able to ensure the back and spine of the patient is functional and restore motion to the patient. In turn, this provides a variety of benefits.

While spinal adjustments are the primary service provided by chiropractors, this is often coupled with a variety of other services that are similar in function but are intended to treat other areas of the body.

For more information about chiropractic treatment, reach out to Achieve Health and Wellness today. We’d be happy to help you with your back pain, soreness, or other issues you are experiencing. We also provide a variety of other services to help with your overall wellness. Ask us about these treatments. We’ll let you know what we can do to improve your mobility and comfort.

What Are the Benefits of Chiropractic Treatment?

There is a reason celebrities love chiropractic treatment—there are a lot of benefits! Below are some of the top benefits of chiropractic treatment…

Treats Back Pain

If you are walking around every day in pain, you know how frustrating this can be. Whether you are working out hard in the gym or simply grocery shopping, you may be experiencing ongoing pain. Keep in mind, pain is your body telling you that something is wrong and needs to be adjusted.

Back pain is notoriously difficult to treat, as there are different components of the back that can be leading to the pain. These include not only the bones but also the muscles and the nerves. All of these need to be addressed for lasting relief from back pain…
There’s no reason to simply live with this pain and hope it will magically go away someday, though. Instead, you can be proactive and schedule an appointment with a chiropractor for an adjustment.

A top chiropractor will be able to provide lasting relief from your back pain. This means no more relying on painkillers to get through the day. It’s best to treat the source of a problem and not just the symptoms. Chiropractic treatment gets to the root cause of the pain to ensure the chronic pain you are experiencing ceases.

Shoulder Pain Treatment

Another type of pain patients deal with quite often is shoulder pain. The shoulder is made up of bones, tendons, tissues, ligaments, and bursa. While the human shoulder is a marvel when it works, if any of these parts are injured it can mean major problems that need to be addressed.
Along with the spine, chiropractors are able to help with shoulder pain. Shoulder adjustments can help to alleviate pain, inflammation, stiffness, and spasms. If you are experiencing ongoing discomfort with your shoulder, reach out to Achieve Health and Wellness. We offer top-quality shoulder joint adjustments that will ease your pain and improve your mobility.

Headache and Migraine Relief

Do you suffer from chronic headaches and migraines? If you do, you know they can be anywhere from painful to completely debilitating. Actually, they can get so bad that they cause vision loss and vomiting!

Many severe headaches and migraines are due to tension. This includes tension in the shoulders and neck. With proper chiropractic adjustments provided by a top chiropractor at Achieve Health and Wellness, you can reduce inflammation and swelling in the sinuses and ears. This can also prevent inflammation and swelling from occurring in the first place. In turn, you can see a dramatic decrease in the frequency and intensity of your headaches.

Sports Injury Treatment

Whether you are a pro athlete or a gym warrior, sports injuries are a major problem. Even top athletes like Michael Jordan had to deal with injuries. If you play a sport or exercise, it’s very likely that you will deal with an injury at some point.

It’s actually pretty common for athletes to injure their back. There is a lot of strain on the back and shoulders when performing any intense exercise. This can be even more so with doing things like lifting weights. This strain can lead to injury.

Chiropractic treatment helps with range of motion, addressing spinal alignment issues, and more. If you are experiencing discomfort due to training in your back, spine, and shoulders, contact us. The team at Achieve Health and Wellness has a lot of experience treating sports injuries. We will get you back to performing at a top level in no time!

Reduction of Osteoarthritis Symptoms

For patients that are experiencing osteoarthritis, chiropractic treatment can be a game-changer. This form of pain is caused by degeneration of joint cartilage. When this happens, bones rub together. By receiving a chiropractic adjustment, a patient is often able to decrease the amount their bones rub together. There has even been research that suggests that chiropractic treatment may help to slow the progression of arthritis! This makes it not only a powerful treatment option but also a strong preventative measure.

It Helps with Posture

Do you slouch a lot? Maybe you walk around with your head bent throughout the day, looking defeated. Poor posture not only affects how confident you look, but also how confident you feel!

Having bad posture isn’t always a matter of remembering not to slouch, though. Many people have poor posture because of the pain and discomfort they are experiencing due to back and neck issues. Others suffer from Hyperkyphosis. This is a condition that leads to a hunchback or roundback posture.

Chiropractic methods can actually help in the treatment of Hyperkyphosis. This, in turn, helps to improve the posture of the patient.

Decreases Stress

When people think of chiropractic, the last thing they generally think of is stress relief. The thing is, having ongoing back pain leads to a lot of stress. Anyone with chronic discomfort understands how much it can affect your mood and, in turn, your level of stress. This can make it difficult to perform—even for athletes, actors, musicians, dancers, and other performers!

If you are a performer or athlete, you also understand how stressful it can be to try and give it your all with an injury. You are constantly worried about causing further injury, which increases your stress levels—making it that much more difficult to do your best.

Chiropractic treatment removes chronic pain that leads to a lot of additional stress in your life—making it easier to focus and do your best.

Physical Therapy

There are many celebrities that use physical therapy to bounce back from injuries and improve their ability to perform regularly. This form of care is especially common with athletes, as they put their bodies through consistent strain (both while they are on and off the field). Below is more information about what physical therapy is, and which of your favorite celebrities have used physical therapy in the past…

What Physical Therapy Is

One of the services the patients at Achieve Health and Wellness benefit from greatly is physical therapy. There is a lot that goes into rehabilitation and recovery from an injury. In order to regain the range of motion you had before an injury you’ll likely need to undergo physical therapy. This includes manual techniques, stretches, and exercises that help to alleviate symptoms of injury, recover, and prevent future injury.

Celebrities That Have Benefitted from Physical Therapy

Many celebrities have benefitted from physical therapy over the years. For some of these celebrities (like athletes), it will probably come as no surprise. For other celebrities, though, you may be surprised to hear they’ve needed physical therapy to recover from an injury.

Below are some of the most famous people that have benefitted from physical therapy…

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is one of the biggest names in Hollywood. He’s had a long career with lots of memorable films to his name. He has also received many awards and award nominations. At 60 years old, Tom Cruise still looks young and fit. Tom is also very active.

One thing that sets Tom Cruise apart from many other actors is that he does a lot of his own stunts. This often puts him in danger, and injuries are a major risk. As with other stunt performers, Tom Cruise has gotten injured while shooting.

One example is when he broke his ankle during the shooting of the film Mission: Impossible—Fallout. During the film shoot, he broke his ankle. This was during a stunt in which Cruise was jumping from one building to another. He ended up hitting a wall and breaking his ankle. After sustaining this injury, he required physical therapy. Tom said:

“I went right into rehab. About 10 hours a day, 12 hours, seven days a week because six weeks later I had to be on set and twelve weeks later I had to be sprinting again…Doctors said they weren’t sure whether I’d be sprinting in nine months, let alone that time. I was like, ‘Okay, I gotta figure this out and I gotta figure it out fast.’”

While it’s not recommended to work through a broken ankle, this is just an example of a celebrity that has used physical therapy to allow him to continue to work—even through a difficult injury.

Throughout his career, he has suffered multiple injuries, but it was a knee injury that led to him needing surgery in 2019. Eric made an outstanding recovery after the surgery in part due to the physical therapy he received.

Bailly has been back on the pitch for years now and is going strong after his knee surgery and recovery.

American football is an extremely difficult sport with a high chance of injury, and Peyton has had several injuries throughout his career. He’s especially had issues with his neck. Because of this, he’s had to undergo multiple neck surgeries. Where a lot of people would have retired after receiving neck surgery, Peyton pushed forward. He was determined to keep playing.

Peyton began physical therapy treatment and throwing drills to get him back into the game. Within a few years, he went from not being able to throw a football five yards to playing in the Super Bowl.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy is an excellent solution for people suffering from chronic pain (often due to injury) that won’t seem to go away. This non-surgical technique allows patients to recover from pain quickly with the help of therapeutic lasers.

What is Cold Laser Therapy?

Cold laser therapy (also known as low-level laser therapy) is a method of recovery that involves the use of a laser to facilitate a process called photobiomodulation. The laser signals the cells of a patient to manufacture more of the substance they need to reproduce and self-repair. This substance is called ATP. With the help of ATP, the tissues of a patient are able to better heal themselves thoroughly and quickly.

Along with the benefits within the cells, the laser also helps the blood vessels to dilate—which increases blood flow to the treatment site. This helps the inflammatory substances to exit the patient’s tissues. From there, a patient experiences a reduction in pain, tension, and swelling without the need for any drugs. This makes it safer than painkillers while being extremely effective.

Some of the benefits of cold laser therapy include:

  • Arthritis pain and stiffness treatment
  • Treatment of chronic pain problems such as fibromyalgia and carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Tendinitis treatment
  • Wound healing
  • Nerve damage treatment
  • Treatment for muscle strains and sprains

Cold Laser Therapy and Chiropractic Care

Both cold laser and chiropractic care provide patients with outstanding benefits on their own. When combined, a patient can receive even more relief. Speak with Achieve Health and Wellness to see if cold laser therapy is the right compliment to your chiropractic care.

Ready to Visit a Chiropractor?

If you are suffering from nagging pain, discomfort, lack of mobility, and/or other chronic issues, chiropractic care may be the perfect solution to meet your needs. Millions of people visit the chiropractor to receive treatment—including some of the top celebrities in the world! Actually, many of the celebrities that you love visit the chiropractor time and time again…because it works.

If you are ready to visit the chiropractor, you may not be sure what to expect, how the adjustments will feel, and what to look for in the right provider. Below is more information about what to expect and what to look for once you are ready to visit a chiropractor…

What to Expect

As a chiropractor is a medical professional, the first thing they will do when you visit is take a look at your medical history and perform a thorough assessment. They will likely have you fill a questionnaire and then discuss your answers with you. This will include questions about the pain you are experiencing, sleep patterns, headaches, exercise, diet, and more. From there, they can put together an appropriate plan of treatment to meet your needs.

Your chiropractor will also perform a physical exam. During the exam, they will test your muscle strength and mobility, posture, joint alignment, and more. They will also check your range of motion and reflexes. While it isn’t always necessary, x-rays of your spine may be taken. Once all of this is taken care of, your chiropractor will begin the adjustment.

During your adjustment, you will lie down on a padded table. Your chiropractor will then manually realign your spine and/or do a soft tissue manipulation. If you are nervous, there is no need to be. Chiropractors are well-trained and know over 150 techniques to perform a gentle and proper alignment. It’s normal to hear cracks and pops during your alignment. A small device may be used to help with the process.

It’s normal to feel tired and sore after your first visit. Some patients even experience a headache. On the other hand, many patients experience quick relief. Over time and with enough treatments, you’ll begin to see a change in your health. If for any reason you feel numbness, weakness, or any other issues, please reach out to Achieve to let us know.

Chiropractors do not prescribe pain meds. Instead, they provide holistic and natural care that encourages the body to heal itself. Sometimes chiropractors will also use hot/cold treatments, massages, bracing, ultrasounds, diet counseling, and exercises to help with the healing process.

If you have any additional questions about the process and what to expect, feel free to reach out to Achieve Health and Wellness. We’d be happy to answer any questions you may have and address any concerns.

Is an Adjustment Painful?

Generally, adjustments are not painful for patients. Your expertly-trained and experienced chiropractor will use their hands to perform non-invasive adjustments. Sometimes they will also use a specialized tool to help with your adjustment. Quick and precise force is used to move the joint back into place. After the procedure, patients often feel immediate relief. With that said, some discomfort may be experienced for a short period. Most of the time patients leave feeling much better.

What to Look for in a Chiropractor

Once you’ve made the decision to visit a chiropractor, you’ll want to consider which chiropractor is right for you. Below are a few of the things you should look for when you are choosing the perfect chiropractor…

Not just anyone can call themselves a chiropractor. Chiropractors are doctors that have received a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from an accredited university. This degree takes years to complete.

A professional chiropractor also needs a license to practice. In order to do this, the doctor will need to pass the NBCE (National Board of Chiropractic Examiners) exam. This isn’t a one-time license, though. Chiropractors need to maintain their licenses and stay up to date.

Check with your chiropractor that they graduated from an accredited university and are current on their license to practice. Any reputable doctor will be able to provide you with this information.

While accreditation and a license are the bare minimum, it’s also nice to find a chiropractor with a lot of experience in the field. Like with any other field of medicine, it’s best to pick a provider that has years of experience and is comfortable working with patients. While you may save some money visiting a newer chiropractor, it’s better to pick a chiropractor that has years in the field practicing the medical service.

The right chiropractor will have a stellar reputation. There are a lot of chiropractors out there. Some have been practicing for a while, but they don’t have a great reputation. This may be because they provide lackluster services, don’t get results, are rude, or more serious issues. Whatever the case may be, it’s good to consider the reputation of the office and the provider before booking a service.

One thing you can look for is testimonials. Often chiropractors will have testimonials from patients on their site. You may even ask friends and family for referrals.

Another thing to check is online reviews. While they don’t always tell the whole story, you should be able to at least get a general idea of what to expect from an office after reading their reviews. This is especially so if they have a good number of reviews.

Achieve Health and Wellness has a stellar reputation with a lot of positive online reviews. We make sure all of our patients leave satisfied, and we get a ton of repeat business from happy customers.

The main service you are likely considering is chiropractic care. With that said, many offices provide other services as well.
Some of the other services provided by Achieve to help with recovery and overall wellness include:
–   Massage
–   Physical Therapy
–   Cold Laser
–   Postural Correction
–   Foot Orthotics

While chiropractic care may be enough to resolve the issue you are having, often a mixture of services improves the chances of recovery and ongoing wellness. Once our chiropractor has performed your assessment, they’ll let you know if they believe other services will be required to resolve the mobility, pain, or other issues you are having. You can also book an appointment for the services above without chiropractic care. If you would simply like a massage, for instance, let us know! We’d be happy to help!

More Reasons to See a Chiropractor

There are so many benefits to seeing a chiropractor (many of which we went over above). Some of the other conditions that chiropractic care helps with include:

Those with fibromyalgia suffer from widespread pain that spans the body of the patient. If you are experiencing widespread pain that has lasted for three months, there is a chance that you have the ailment. Often, the pain will be experienced around the chest, neck, knees, elbows, shoulders, and hip of the patient.

Some of the other symptoms of fibromyalgia may include:

  • Fatigue
  • Cognitive or memory impairment
  • Chronic headaches
  • Jaw pain
  • Sleep disorders
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Menstrual cramping
  • Skin sensitivities
  • Muscle pain after exertion
  • Numbness or tingling
  • Morning stiffness
  • Irritable bowels

Dr. Fisher has experience with diagnosing and treating the symptoms of fibromyalgia. He provides all of his patients with a thorough examination to better get an idea of what the ailment they are experiencing is. From there, he can better determine if the issue is fibromyalgia.

The following conditions have similar symptoms as fibromyalgia:

  • Allergies
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Anemia
  • Nutritional deficiencies
  • Lyme disease

If you are looking for treatment for the pain caused by fibromyalgia, you’ll want to consider chiropractic care. As the nervous system runs through the spinal column and carries information from the brain to the body and vice versa, it makes sense that seeking chiropractic care is a good solution for spine and back pain caused by the condition.

The chiropractic care provided by Achieve Health and Wellness is non-invasive. You’ll receive treatment to help manage the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Chiropractic care is a great alternative to drugs, and it helps with improving your range of motion. This encourages your body to start healing itself naturally.

Restricted or misaligned vertebrae push on the nerves of a patient and cause multi-point pain that is associated with fibromyalgia. In order to relieve the pain experienced by patients, Dr. Fisher uses gentle pressure to adjust the spine of the patient. There are also cases in which low- or high-velocity thrusts and stretches are used to realign the vertebrae.

Auto Accident

Most of the time, auto accidents can be avoided. They are generally rare. With that said, they can happen and, when they do, they can lead to a lot of chronic pain. Some injuries may be mild, while others can be quite serious. Injuries that lead to chronic pain can interfere with the life of a patient, as it makes even the simplest task that much more difficult.

If you have been in an accident and are experiencing chronic pain, reach out to Achieve Health and Wellness. Our chiropractic and physical therapy teams will meet with you and put together a plan to decrease the pain and discomfort you are experiencing.

Some of the most common issues that lead to chronic pain include:

  • Herniated disc. A herniated disc can lead to shooting pains that cause extreme and ongoing discomfort. If you are experiencing shooting pains up and down your arms and legs, you may have a herniated disc.
  • Whiplash. This is a common injury when it comes to auto accidents. The momentum of the accident can cause your neck to snap back and forth, which strains the cervical ligaments. In turn, this causes neck pain.
  • Knee injury. Sprains can occur when you hit your knee on the dashboard. A knee sprain often comes with swelling, pain, and difficulty walking.

If you are experiencing pain and discomfort while you are walking around, you’ll want to give Achieve a visit. There is a chance that the shooting pains and other symptoms in your leg or foot may be sciatica. This condition stems from the root of the sciatic nerve at the bottom of the spine (hence the name). The condition involves nerve inflammation or irritation.

The sciatic nerve controls the communications between your spinal cord and legs (all the way to your feet). If you are experiencing a spinal misalignment, bony overgrowth, or a herniated/bulging disc that presses against the roof of the nerve, they can no longer relay motor and sensory data properly.

Generally, sciatica does not require surgery. With that said, the underlying cause will need to be addressed. Our chiropractor is able to find the root cause of the issue by providing detailed evaluations of your spine. From there, the issues can be addressed, and pressure can be taken off of the nerve tissue. Dr. Fisher will make adjustments that correct alignment issues and treat disc problems. We can also provide massage therapy to relax the soft tissues and muscles that may be pinching the sciatic nerve.
